6 Common Myths About Internet Marketing

6 Common Myths About Internet Marketing:

  • Internet Marketing is too expensive  - The great thing about Internet marketing is that it can be done effectively on any budget.
  • You need a expensive looking, “Flash” filled website to be effective - The truth is that often the more doodads you have on your website, the harder it is to navigate.  Some strategically placed photos and video, with easy to find information goes much further in the viewer experience.
  • High Search Rankings are all that’s important - While ranking high on search engines is a valuable strategy, it’s far from the most important thing to focus on.  Having a balanced strategy will garner far more customers and sales rather than just focusing on page views.
  • Social Media is a waste of time (Or it’s we do!) - Having a consistent and honest social media plan is vital to a successful Internet plan.  However, it’s not a complete strategy by itself.
  • Once I rank high on Google, We’ve arrived – Not true!  Sites like Google (but especially Google) are focused on getting their customers to the most relevant websites based on their search results.  Just because you are more Google relevant than your competition today, does not mean you’ll be tomorrow.  A consistent strategy is key to success!
  • High website traffic is the key indicator of success – Would you rather have 10,000 people see your website that don’t buy anything, or 100 that do?  A targeted strategy that yields results is the success indicator.

Mike Green formed MG Success in 2004 after seeing a need for “something different” in the world of marketing and sales. Working with various clients in differing industries throughout that time has provided MG Success an unmatched oppertunity to see the similarities in business, and how they fail due to undirected marketing efforts. Paramount to the MG Success philosophy is an understanding of how valuable it is to be your “Highest Self” in all that you do. At work, or at home, or at any other capacity of life, a Higher Self awareness is key to bringing the best to those around you. Your customers, your family, and all others within your circle of influence will thank you. - Mike Green, originally from Salt Lake City, contracted with SunRiver development as their Marketing Director in 2001.
